Have you ever seen a dolphin that looks like it's always smiling? The Irrawaddy dolphin has a big round head, no real beak, and a permanent grin — almost like a baby beluga with a tiny dorsal fin.
It lives in rivers and coastal waters across Southeast Asia — the Mekong, the Irrawaddy — and it's famous for actually teaming up with local fishermen to herd fish. A real one.
Sadly, it's endangered — some river populations are critically endangered with only around 90 left in the Mekong, mostly because of fishing nets and dams. A super cool, rare creature that really needs our help.
